18" - well, the factory length is actually 17 3/8" - hands down. This has been pretty beat to death over the years. There are some folks who like their 16" FALs. My impression is more folks tried them and didn't prefer them. I personally don't care for the way they balance, but that is a subjective call, to be sure.
