While at the range today I thought I had an FTF and went to eject the mag. Ruger CS sent me a new slide and prepaid mailing box to return the bad one. Beside the fact that Ruger makes good guns at reasonable prices there is another reason to buy Ruger. Great CS with no BS. Problems with Max 9. Today was the second time I was able to take my new Max 9 out to the range. The first time I did, the slide wasn't able to return to battery via slingshoting it. Also, just after firing a box of range rounds, the plastic takedown gate completely broke off causing the slide to get stuck back after almost every shot.

The first two were classic stovepipes and easily cleared. The last two were very odd in that the spent casing stayed in the barrel’s chamber requiring me to use a small wooden dowel to pry the casing out; not good for a home defense/carry gun! 1.
