I called my local HD dealer to ask how much it would cost to perform a cam swap and dyno. They quoted me 10 hours of labor @ $100/hr, plus 3 hours for the dyno - $1,300 total. I called two other dealers and one quoted 6 hours and the other one quoted 4-5 hours. Meanwhile, the two local, non-HD shops each quoted me 3-4 hours.

As expected it is almost a drop in affair with a few differences. First. You HAVE to swap the stator assembly. The road kind uses a high output stator which is a lot wider. Since the tranny is a seperate unit it can be left off and the primary CVT clutch can be mounted directly to the crankshaft of the V-twin. Any V-4 engines set up like a Harley? From that description of it`s character, i don`t have much interest.Single phase motors can be reversed by either swapping the starting winding or the running winding around but never both.
