I even own a Ruger 22/45. While they both have their merits, I think overall a dedicated .22 gives a family a second complete firearm vs. two slides and one frame. I vote go with the GSG 1911. The only thing I like better on the 22/45 over the GSG is the solid steel barrel of the Ruger versus the lighter alloy of the GSG.
