I contacted Mercari and was able to cancel after 7-9 days. You should be able to request the cancel or either way Mercari should be able to step in and cancel it. Reach out to Mercari and they should take care of it. Or they'll automatically cancel it without allowing the seller to refuse cancellation in a few days.
