For reference ESS battery=aux battery=supplemental battery; they're all one and the same. Some people have suggested--and I think them purists--that because the 2 batteries are of different types that it's best to charge them separately. But I don't think your rig does, so why should you?

Simply hook it up and forget it. No switches or fooling around trying to remember which battery is charging or needs charging. I have a dual battery setup to power my winch and the isolator keeps both batteries charged. If I run the second battery flat with the winch, the first battery will still start the Jeep.
