This is largely do to things like the Unrest mechanic, which can severely punish the whole group for an improper order of operations (by a single player). Paizo publicly admitted to never actually playtesting KM 2e, and it shows. Kingdom Management with RAW will most likely make some players completely tune out. Ultimately, one of the best things about Kingmaker in my opinion is that it has loads of room to add in material of your own, or even other adventures, to really help make the campaign feel personal to the party.
