Hi all, recently did the oil change on the engine of my L3800. Manual for the L3800 says to use 7.5 quarts including the oil filter which was changed out at the same time. Now for the confusing part. The manual shows a dipstick that has a square section at the end with two lines with cross hatching in between.Dec 29, 2016 ... Mar 2, 2024 · The owner's manual says to change oil every 400 hrs. It has been 15 months since the original 50 hr. oil change. Oil still looks okay, darker, but not coal black from soot. Note to those engineer/techno types - Not going to send it out to get it analyzed, cheaper and easier to just change it.

The oil I use in my car claims it can go 10,000 miles. When I bought the car, and in the manual, 3,000 miles is the change interval. I sort of split the difference. I go about 5,000 miles or so. If I can divide the number of miles by 5, time to change. I just can't force myself to go 10,000 miles. If nothing else, that is a long time for me.

Kubota has to definitely get there act together with their maintenance schedules and what they publish! They have been manufacturing BX tractors fo over 15 years! I downloaded the 1870 user manual and it does not tell you to change the transmission fluid at 50 hr. However my 1880 manual does say to change at 50 hours.
