The stake marks are evidence of an adjustable rear sight being installed, but that would have been later. There may (or may not) be other clues on the carbine as to whether it went through a rebuild.The bolt has the wear I would expect from a good amount of use, but the rest of the receiver, barrel, slide and trigger group have very little wear.
