Apr 9, 2006 · The 700 or 4L60 have terrible gear spacing for drag racing. For somebody just wanting to cruise around and not beat on their car the 700/4L60 works fine. A 2004R is a better transmission because it's stronger and has better gear spacing. After that a TH400 and Gear Vendor is the way to go.
