The hyper flash is due to the computer sensing the low/lack of voltage being used. So it is a warning to to you a light bulb is out. A resistor will in essence trick the computer that the proper amount of voltage is being used, so no hyper flash. Remember that if your LED light was to go out, your computer would not know, due to the resistor.

I used these from Amazon for my front turns and they have been working great for the ~2 months they have been in.
