Multiple project files can be linked into a single file so that you can reference them. Since you have multiple disciplines I would assume this is what is happening with you. SolidWorks is not used AT ALL in construction. Revit/AutoCAD is the standard. Revit primarily used for coordination and BIM, AutoCAD for drafting. SolidWorks is the more complicated of the two, so you can certainly learn AutoCAD/Revit, probably by stumbling around on the job, but not at all the same thing. ThatInternetGuy.
