A titanic sabretooth that roamed South America during the Pleistocene. I based its fur on the tiger, lion and jaguar, the largest cats alive today. It would be more suitable due to the environment in South America. This is also for "The Story of Smilodon: Call of the Sabretooth".As soon as I sketched this, I remembered that I absolutely love drawing them, so I may make more. This is the skull of a smilodon!!! Smilodon fatialis reconstruction. Based on Lynx and mostly Caracal. I love how the pointy ears make it look even more badass. It's plain coat also pays tribute to the old school lion-esque reconstructions. The root of the tooth is not black of course, I just coloured it that way to make it more visible. I also read somewhere that Smilodon has to cover its teeth since they're not made of the same material as the tusks of walrus, narwhals or tusked deers. However, I couldn't find that article or any other statements about this.
