Why is madden taking out my starters.

Every madden for the last few years. When I am playing franchise and I get to the last quarter of the season. My starters only play 1 play before being benched all game. How do I fix this? Every starting receiver is dead after 1 play. Turned off auto subs and they just stay in dead tired so they may as well be trash backups at that point. Madden is ruined by these assholes.
