From what i've seen, the script extender update worked for some people. The only way i got it to work was load a pre patch 4 save, this worked with mods. Even if I disable/delete all mods the problem persists in my current save. This means its a game issue and could still be fixed riiight?

So i use Vortex for my mods and it works fine but since patch 4 modfixer seems to cause a lot of problems like Astarions main quest getting bugged (Raphael just nopes out of act 2), kiss animations not playing and dialogue goes missing. So i installed script extender in vortex which still is on version 4.0.
