You need to decide whether you want to be a caster or melee. Then pick one damage type to focus on, either Vitality or Bleed. If you choose anything other than "melee" and "Bleed" then reroll your character and make a different class choice. ("Lightning" and "Physical" would also be valid choices for damage type with this mastery combination.)Pump points into Shaman to max out Wendigo Totem. With gear boosting Vitality/Chaos damage, you can facestomp anything until at least mid-game. Doesn't hurt that both of your attacks are AoE to clear groups before they can even reach you.
