Dual wield builds arent really considered bad, but they are more often than not, less optimal than two handers, feat dependant, stat hungry and gear dependant where other builds usually work better with less. Dual wield ranged xbows is considered better than longbow by many.

TBH assassin just feels kinda bad compared to theif. 2 bonus actions is super strong. Dual wielding in general is only useful in niche situations in BG3 because it consumes a bonus action, and there are tons of fun and useful things to do with your bonus action. Using the off-hand takes a bonus action.

The feat merely removes the requirement that weapons you dual-wield have the Light keyword. The requirement that weapons with the Two-Handed keyword need two hands is unaffected.
