I have a 2017 Jeep Compass and recently the following has happened: The engine power light came on. Loss of power when accelerating past 3,000 RPM. Low Idle speed. What I have done to diagnose: Took it to the dealership - they claim it is the Throttle Body. I used my OBD2 scanner and pulled a code - P2173 - Vacuum Intake Leak.

One way to calibrate it is with key in on position depress the gas peddle slowly. Taking about 10 seconds to bottom out. Then release the gas just as slowly. Then turn car on.

Replaced throttle body with non factory part (Duralast and AA Ignition car responded the same way with both parts), new connector harness. Car starts but idles strange, car shakes, depressing the accelerator pedal does nothing at all, no change in RPMs, no revving.If the plug won't push in all the way, I would first check to see if any of the 6 pins in the throttle body side are bent, broke, or otherwise damaged. If o.k., then check the wire harness side carefully for damage to one on the female receptors. The female wire harness side could be replaced by splicing in a good one from a junk yard.Something tells me there is a communication problem between the electric gas pedal and throttle body motor. All i know is if they come back with " we can duplicate the concern" I'm trading for a 5.7 liter Commander. I need more power.
