I believe a 12 gauge 600 jr took a red wad guide. Early guides also came in brass. They can be found but are hard to find, brass or plastic. Mec offers a replacement - revamped system. At a nominal cost that looks more robust than the old wad guide.

The versamec had all steel dies and included the pro check. The 600 started with steel dies and no pro check. The later ones had plastic dies. The 700's work great. I still have two 50 years old that I use for hunting loads and load development. Age just makes one old. Only the wise benefit from experience.
