ICD 5 Bring-up from ICD 3. Simply connect the pickit3 to your USB port, after driver installed, start the IDE, not X-IDE, and select your chip. IDE will download whole new OS and related firmware to the pickit 3. If the CCS compiler has not been updated to 64 bit, there's no way it will run under MPLABX 5.50. I'd recommend downloading MPLABX v5.35 and trying under that.
