It helps, but you can use other means to do it as well, like feats. I had 45 persuasion at level 20 on a 10 base charisma character once. High charisma, any paladin, bard, sorcerer, feyspeaker, or scaled fist will work. But 12 is sufficient for a base charisma, as long as you have a means to boost persuasion and the skill points to do it. Pure alchemist is pretty straightforward. You want a high INT to use every spell and a good DEX score so that you can hit things with a crossbow and bombs. 16 minimum for both of those stats. Works best as a support IMO. It is pretty difficult in Kingmaker to make a Cleric/Mage that is as strong as a single class of either. You tend to just have lower stats and weaker spells across the board. If you use the mod Call of the Wild it gives you access to Oracle, which is a Charisma based spell caster, so you could go with Oracle and ...
