The SFX9 isn't necessarily comparable to anything Baer has and isn't really a 1911, although it looks like a good gun. It's like comparing a Glock 19 to a single stack gun. For a general use 1911 I'd say go with the Baer, for a good carry option Wilson are hard to beat. If you're going to customize it go with a Wilson.

Trouble is the Wilson finish, like cerokote, is not as durable to holster. Whereas nitride is durable to wear but cannot handle CLP. My opinion is the best option is an ionbond coating like DLC, which is durable re: wear and is fine with CLP. Fast is fine, but accuracy is final. Thanks to all for the input.
Ivymike. The Glock of the custom 1911 world is a hand built/tuned Kart barreled Colt Government model running 7rd mags without a lot of modern addons. There is a lot of personal preference and customer/smith interaction and not much off-the-shelf in "custom".
