The 30S, SF, is very close in size to the Glock 19 – another one of my favorite models. It is a little thicker in the grip, but not by much. However, the 30 won’t fit in the standard Glock plastic sport holster, you need the bigger version and it’s only a buck or two more – very inexpensive.

I have owned the G30 the longest, just picked up the G29 (have only put 67 rounds through it). I shoot both okay and enjoy them. Both lose velocity because of the 3.77 barrel so keep your rounds on target.Glock reduced the backstrap circumference just a teeny bit. I reach the 30 fine, but the 30 sf seems awesome feeling to me. The G30 (32.50MM wide) is just a little bit wider than the G26 (30MM wide). What I would also consider is most put an extension on the G26 which makes the grip the same length as the 19/30 with facotry extension.

Finally, the Glock 30 with the flush fit magazine makes for a pretty concealable package in that the short grip length is a big plus for CCW. As for the Smith, the M&P will undoubtedly fit better in your hand. To me, the grip on the M&P has a better feel than the Glock. The M&P45c is also slimmer, has adjustable backstraps, and ambi slide locks.Maybe even more than my 36. Also, as far as a 30S/30SF comparison; seeing as the 30SF has a heavier slide, I would imagine it would have slightly less perceived recoil and SLIGHTLY less muzzle rise, allowing for slightly faster follow-up shot front sight acquisition.
