I use to pay 55 cents per foot for the old stuff, but today I paid nearly $9.00 for 2 feet of the f/i hose. The old Jeep's with carbs used a mechanical pump that wouldn't fit on a SBC. There are 2 connections on the fuel tank sender unit. I'm guessing the larger line goes to the fuel pump and the small line is the return line. Where does the return line originate from in the engine compartment. I know there are 2 hard line along frame but not sure where to hook up the return in engine area. Usually there is no return line on a carburetor as the needle and seat shut off the fuel flowing into the carb. The return line is usually on the fuel pump or sometimes as on many chrysler type systems on the fuel filter itself. If you test the fuel pressure at the fuel rail with a pressure tester it should read about 32 psi with the vacuum hoses all attatched, if it does indeed read ...If I had it to do all over again, I'd use the hard plastic line that is used on newer vehicles. It's a 1990 Wrangler but the block numbers on the 258 say it's from the late 70s. Looks like its been swapped at some point with some nice headers, intake manifold, and carb.
