Worst case scenario if you install it bad is just pop it off and redo, it's just 1/16" to 1/8" of thinset. Just hot glue them into place. Really you're supposed to do it when tiling. You can still take your time with it. Just do small areas at a time. Know how long you've got to work with the thinset you choose.
